Crush Inflation?

Throughout this year spent with elementary school girls, I've noticed something very strange. When I was in third grade or so, here are some of the guys (in the public eye) that I had crushes on:
I promise it wasn't me that drew that heart..guess I'm not the only girl who thought he was hot.

The only new kid I found unattractive is Danny

Clarrisa's neighbor..I always lived in fear that she'd decide she liked him and they'd kiss or something. She annoyed me and I didn't want that to happen. Also, I have no idea who this goon is that inserted himself in this picture.

I'm very angry at myself for almost forgetting this guy, the guy every girl from at least 8-14 had a crush on in the 1990s:



Anyway, all those guys were practically my age through an age I mentally calculated as "high school age." Here's the only celebrity I have ever heard young girls (as young as 2nd grade) say they have crushes on:



That's right, elementary school girls are spending their free time in art class creating cards and notes for JOHN CENA of the WWE (it may be some other wrestling thing-I have no idea). I have never heard of them having crushes on anyone other than him, which is very strange since he looks 40 or so and is very physically imposing and probably breaks chairs over people's heads on television. He also spends most of his time wearing tiny, tight shorts. I doubt he ever says anything funny and probably has at least two kids! I've seen this Cena crush at more than one school! Is this some sort of inflation that affects the physical size and age of what is attractive to young girls? Does it have anything to do with the John Cena cardboard cutout that's always outside of Spencer's?
