better places to be of the day:

Oh Nags Head...the glare in that one picture almost makes it appear that you may not exist anymore! I love late afternoon webcam shots. Any sort of late afternoon picture usually reminds me of how life is occasionally portrayed in commercials. Like that soup commercial where the little boy comes tromping back inside as a snowman and then the soup turns him back into a boy. It seems so benign but what a sneaky commercial! It's early enough for a young boy to be playing outside in the snow alone in the dark, so it's like 5pm. His mom is home, and has obviously been home long enough for him to play outside, so I guess she doesn't even work. They don't have anything to do except sit there and eat this soup and his mom doesn't even get mad when giant blocks of ice fall off of him onto the carpet! In reality, this scenario would be like the boy being cold because his mom forgot to pick him up and he's been standing outside school in the snow for 20 minutes. Then they stop at 7-11 and buy some soup that she puts in an incredibly dirty microwave for him to eat. He probably burns his tongue on it. Then they go home and the boy's mom and dad get in a screaming match about how much paper towels cost and the boy tries to do his impossible math homework and goes to bed.
