Elvis

Today, at some point years ago, Elvis died. I was only reminded of this because Don and Mike were having Elvis Death Day on my way home from orientation. They were starting out the show with this ridiculous song someone had written about Elvis saving his life by giving him twenty bucks after the guy gave him a candy bar. I don't know how the guy had the money to buy the candy bar since he was supposed to be so broke twenty bucks saved his life...maybe he stole it because of his love for Elvis? Anyway, the song was so terrible and reverent, which made it hilarious. Now E! is showing all of these Elvis related True Hollywood stories. All those fat dudes called the "Memphis Mafia" were all in the part I watched, defending Elvis and calling him "King." Then you can't forget that stupid Designing Women episode where Charlene makes them go to the Elvis convention and they just sit around and listen to stories about a kleenex he used or about how he spit on someone's daughter and it healed her polio in some restaurant the entire episode. Give it up! Elvis was just some guy. People should save their energy for someone better's death day.
