I guess orientation wasn't as bad as it could've been because ultimately I did know one person. We had to do a lot of uncomfortable group work though that no one except me seemed to be able to do properly. On one occasion where we were all supposed to be sharing info about some standards for ten minutes, one dude talked the whole time about how we need to rate all the sites on the web in terms of their validity for research purposes. Then the only other person my age in the group starting making me have to ignore her existence by squalling about whether there had been some blackout for two weeks (the dude brought up some crap about that). Anyway, yuck.
