Summer Job Search Memory
I was reading an article on OceanCity.com about the guy that runs Trimper's Amusements on the Ocean City Boardwalk (picture below) and remembered a funny story.

My friend Jessica and I wanted to work in Ocean City for the summer and somehow decided we should apply at Trimper's. We must have pressed some sort of doorbell or something, I really can't remember at this point and we nervously walked up these stairs. When we got to the office, we were pretty much ignored because the secretary was watching some boy try on skateboarding shoes that seemed to have "fallen off the back of a truck." When we finally got their attention after the skateboarder left, we said we wanted to apply. The secretary screeched out "JOHNNY!" while I tried not to run back down the stairs. Johnny, who ended up being a scary ex-saloon girl looking woman appeared after a minute. She took us to a room that had all the hideous Trimper's uniforms stapled to the walls. Then she wanted to photocopy our IDs, which we reluctantly handed over. While she was out of the room we started frantically figuring out how to tell her we weren't interested. Of course, we didn't actually tell her that but just sat there through the rest of the interview and just nodded our heads whenever she asked us something. When she finally released us, we ran to the car as fast as we could and took off for Salisbury.
I am pretty sure that Julie was not with us when we went to Trimper's, but she may have been waiting for us in the car or at some store. Anyway, we worried about it all the way back to Salisbury until Julie agreed to call as one of us and tell them we didn't want to work there. It was one of the greatest reliefs of my life when I realized I wouldn't have to work there.
